Remote Services

With BMW ConnectedDrive the driver has remote access to his vehicle via a call centre or the My BMW Remote app.

Remote Services are very useful, e.g. when you’re not sure if you locked the car. The My BMW Remote App lets you lock or unlock your BMW by iPhone from anywhere in the world.

The driver can even regulate the temperature remotely and ensure that the interior is as warm or cool as he wants it before the journey begins. The remote function allows the driver to sound the horn and flash the lights in order to find the vehicle in a large car park. In addition, the iPhone app Vehicle Finder shows the vehicle’s current position on a map at a distance of up to 1.5 km.

Instead of using the My BMW Remote App the driver can call the BMW call centre. After he’s identified himself as the owner, the call centre agent activates the Remote Services and unlocks or locks the vehicle. Certain models have remote climate control. With a brief call to the BMW call centre, a pleasant temperature inside the vehicle can be set ahead of time – before starting off on a journey.

The requirements for Remote Services are ConnectedDrive Services, the Business mobile preparation with Bluetooth interface as well as a Professional or Business navigation system. At present, Remote Services are available in Germany, Austria, Italy, France and Great Britain.
